WHO IS FORTUNA?
Every
Good Luck Cult needs an icon and Fortuna, the Roman Goddess of
Fortune and Luck, is the inspiration for ours.
As
a figurehead, Fortuna stands tall, swinging a down-turned sword,
back and forth, like an irregular pendulum. With it, she dispenses
Luck, both fair and foul. She does not wear a blindfold, for her
impartiality is her integrity. She has a beautiful, intriguing face
with a quirky smile, like the Statue of Liberty or Angelina
Jolie. Her steady gaze can comfort the misfortunate with
tender empathy yet wink gaily at a winner with the same expression.
Fortuna is a vixen.
